The HTML+ and HTML 3.0 revisions never received widespread adoption but most of the new features were included in the HTML 3.2[12] standard released by the World Wide Web Consortium in early 1996. This version standardized many widely available commercial features such as tables and applets. Also included in the specification was the requirement that all documents must have a document type declaration and a document title.
